Assignment Overview and Purpose
You can find a pdf version of this prompt here: Teaching Dossier Prompt PDF
The Teaching Dossier represents the culmination of your work this quarter.
In this assignment, you will revise and refine the materials you’ve developed throughout the course, integrating insights from our readings, discussions, and feedback. The dossier showcases your growth as an educator, articulates your approach to teaching in your discipline, offers an opportunity to reflect on your journey through the course and how the readings, discussions, and assignments have shaped your approach to teaching. The materials you create can serve as a foundation for your future work as an educator in your field.
Components
- Revised Teaching Philosophy (500-750 words)
- As is consistent with the conventions of this genre, your revision should not only reflect your current understanding of pedagogy in your discipline, but it should also be more concise than your earlier draft. That said, your philosophy should:
- Articulate your core beliefs about teaching and learning
- Connect to theoretical frameworks/research that inform your approach
- Present a coherent vision of your identity as an educator

Format
- Compile all components into either a single document (a google doc with tabs would work especially well here) or a new folder in your individual folder
- I recommend including a brief table of contents or overview to provide context
- Try to use consistent formatting throughout
- Consider the document’s accessibility and readability
